Terms & Conditions
Deposits
A non-refundable deposit of £100 is required when making the reservation. The balance is due in cleared funds 8 weeks prior to arrival.
A damage deposit of £100.00 is payable with your balance.
All payments should be made by UK cheque, UK bank transfer or €uro cheque or transfer (by prior arrangement - please ask for bank account details).
Paying the balance for your holiday: the outstanding balance will be required no later than 8 calendar weeks prior to the start date of your holiday, again by UK cheque, UK bank transfer or €uro cheque or transfer (by prior arrangement - please ask for bank account details).
PLEASE NOTE: In the event that final balance payment is not made by the due date, your booking will be cancelled and the gite re-let. Your deposit will not be refunded if there are any breakages or damage that may occur during your stay. Breakages or damages will be agreed prior to departure wherever possible, or otherwise notified to you within 7 days of departure.
Your payment of the damage deposit will be returned by post to you within 14 days from the end of your holiday (or an equivalent cheque repaid to you less any necessary deductions for breakages).
Cancellations
Should you wish to cancel your booking with us after your payment has been received and banked, please contact us as soon as possible. We will then make every effort to re-let the gite for the period of your booking and repay a percentage to you. However, if re-letting is unsuccessful any monies paid cannot be refunded.
Insurance
We advise that you take out travel insurance against the possibility of having to cancel your holiday. In addition, under French law, the client is responsible for the property contents for the duration of the holiday including accidental damage, loss, expense or inconvenience which the client or any member of his/her party may suffer arising from or in connection with the holiday or resulting from any other cause whatsoever. We strongly recommend that clients ensure that their personal insurance covers them for this.
Arrivals
Guests should try not to arrive any earlier than 4pm (usually on a Saturday). If transport arrangements are such that your time of arrival is earlier than this, please contact us with details well in advance, as it might be possible to allow entry prior to this time or at least allow for a luggage drop off. If travel arrangements mean that your arrival will be after 7pm, please advise us as soon as you can.
Departures.
Guests must vacate the gite no later than 10am on their day of departure to enable us to prepare the accommodation for the next arrivals. Please remove all used bedding, leave it in the room ready for laundry, and leave the gite in the same condition that you found it. Our charges include a full ‘secondary’ cleaning service after vacation but we would not usually have to spend more than three hours on that service. Should you wish to simply ‘pack and go’, you can make use of our full after-holiday optional cleaning service instead; you may arrange this with us, for a charge of £30.00 or Euro equivalent.
Breakages/Damages
On or shortly after arrival, we will come to the house to show you around, explain how things work and answer any questions you may have. If you find that any of the appliances are not in working order, you should inform us on the first day of your stay. (All appliances will have been checked prior to your arrival.)
Damages in excess of the value of the Damage deposit must be paid for and reclaimed via client personal insurance.
Dogs
Well behaved dogs are very welcome, but are expected to clean up after their owners! We ask that owners respect our furniture and protect bedding and soft furnishings. We want your pets to enjoy their stay too and enjoy the freedom of their holiday gite as a home from home, but if there is significant damage or deep cleaning required, replacement items will be charged for and deducted from the security deposit (see above, ‘Security Cheque’). ‘Scooping’ bags are freely available for use and used bags should be tightly closed, and placed in the bin provided in your garden.
